Small Business Social Media Sites | Small Business Internet Marketing

Effective Social Media Marketing, Pinterest, Small Business Content Marketing, Small Business Effective Social Media, Small Business Forums, Small Business Pinterest, Small Business Presentations, Small business slideshow, Small business social marketingThere are many, many fish in the social media sea, and oh so few of them are worth your valuable business time. That?s why I?m going to tell you about four seldom heard-of small business social media sites?that you can use to expand your online presence in a way that can actually make a difference.

I?ll give Pinterest a quick recap since I recently published a post on it. This site is all about?appearances. It allows you to post your favorite pictures to virtual?pin boards?and share them with friends, and they can also be linked to specific websites (which can drive traffic to your company site).?In fact, Pinterest actually refers more traffic to other websites than Google+, LinkedIn, and YouTube combined! Members can search for pictures based on category, so with the right visuals and categorization, your site traffic could get a nice pick-me-up.

The next one?s an oldie but goodie: discussion forums! Yes, the well known company forum format can still be fantastic way to communicate with prospects and customers. They generally allow for less formal communication, which in turn makes members more likely to listen to what you have to say as long as you?re not overly promotional. Whether you?re providing customer service, announcing news, or something else entirely, it?s a great way to connect with others.

SlideShare is another creative way to market your small business. Chances are you?ve already used a presentation program like PowerPoint before. SlideShare offers all the basic features of that application and more in an online environment. In fact, you can upload PowerPoint or PDF slide decks for display on your blog, webpage, etc. You can even sync audio to your slides to create a full company presentation.

The last site I?ll talk about is Scribd. Now I?ll be frank with you: I?ve heard of this site for a while now, but I never really knew what it could do until recently. Scribd is more or less a PDF sharing program that allows you to share anything from whitepapers to product manuals on your blog, social networks, or websites to increase your presence online, further adding to your reputation as an expert in your field.

So what do you think? Will you be using any of these sites (or site formats) in the future? Are you already using one or more of them? Leave a comment below!
